Since 1972, Second Story provides safe havens and opportunities to grow and thrive to young people and their families. The Beacon of Hope Virtual Fundraiser is Second Story's only major fundraising event of the year.
As the Communications Coordinator, I am responsible for creating relevant content across social media plantforms. I developed, planned, and implemented the organization's social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, engagement, and registration rates for the annual fundraiser.

This included:

Leading Reels and other short-form emerging social media channel strategy in partnership with the fundraiser

Owning social channel content and publishing decisions for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, driving both long-term strategy, content and publishing, and day-to-day decisions and community building and management

Managing a budget to be spent on promoting social media posts and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising

Keeping track of data and analyzing the performance of social media campaign

Managing interns to champion social-first ideas and create topical content

Results
By curating targeted, researched content, I was able to create content that resonated with potential followers and grow our engagement rate. I made sure our ad copies were enticing and engaging to build awareness around the event.
